Robert L. Sohol’s dedication to hard work began at the age of 15, working as a laborer on sod farms in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. In his late teens, he found his calling while working as a carpenter during the construction of Water Tower Place in Chicago. As a result of that experience, Bob founded R.L. Sohol Carpenter Contractor, Inc., focusing on the construction of residential housing. As relationships developed with various clients, vendors and fellow contractors, Bob recognized an opportunity to expand in to the commercial and institutional market. Instead of entering these new markets representing a single trade, Bob decided to incorporate R.L. Sohol General Contractor, Inc. in 1988.
Decades later, the company he founded has successfully completed over numerous projects of varying size and complexity. Our experience transcends any one area of expertise, as our portfolio will attest. Our dedicated staff, from the earliest project contact during the estimating phase, through negotiation, award, construction and delivery, possesses the knowledge, understanding and professionalism to present a turnkey product of the highest quality to our clients. Since its inception, the founding ideals of R.L. Sohol General Contractor, Inc. have been to embrace our client’s vision, incorporate our strengths in to the project team, and be an integral part of managing and delivering the proud legacy that is a successful project.
